Neuromodulators, what you need to know.

The anti-aging world was transformed upon the discovery of neuromodulator treatments to treat frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, overdeveloped jawline muscles and rigid neck muscles. They can also relieve migraines and excessive sweating. Neuromodulator treatments are wildly popular for anyone who wants to look more rested and refreshed.

What are Neuromodulators?

Neuromodulators consist of a protein called Botulinum Toxin Type A, which is created from a bacteria – much like penicillin is made. A neuromodulator treatment involves precise injections that relax the dynamic muscles that form expression lines.  Neuromodulators temporarily reduce the movement of muscles that cause moderate to severe wrinkles, resulting in a smoother, younger look.

Neuromodulators help with:

  • frown lines
  • forehead lines
  • crows feet
  • neck
  • wrinkles & fine lines
  • sweating

What are crows feet and frown lines?

As we grow older, we start to notice the appearance of these wrinkles with every smile, frown, or furrowed brow. Crows feet are known to appear around our eyes, as frown lines appear between our brows. As we age, these wrinkles can make us look more tired and drawn than we really feel.

Will I see results quickly?

Results for your treatment can start to show  as early as 2 days, but you will see the maximum result by 2 weeks.

How long do results last?

The  effect of neuromodulators generally lasts between 3-4 months. Those that consistently receive treatments may find their results last even longer.

How long does the treatment take and will it hurt?

The actual injection process takes a quick 10 minutes. Our qualified practitioners will initially take the time to discuss your treatment goals, learn all your medical history, and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment for you.  The injection itself feels like a little pinch!  If you are concerned with discomfort you can discuss pain management options with your practitioner, however, most patients find the treatment quite comfortable.

Will my face look overdone or unnatural?

That should never happen with good injections. The goal is to produce a look that is well-rested and relaxed. The trick is to find a practitioner with whom you can feel comfortable with – one who listens to the objective that YOU wish to achieve

Side effects?

Side effects are generally mild. Some patients experience mild bruising, headache and transient numbness. Most patients can walk out of the office and return to work within 20 minutes.

Excessive sweating

Sweating is an important and natural process by which our body regulates temperature. When this process is over-productive, it can negatively affect confidence and self-esteem, and become a burden. Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is generally localized to areas such as the armpits, palms, soles of the feet and face or scalp and can be treated with neuromodulator treatments.

A thorough consultation will allow us to assess your unique condition, and determine the appropriate treatment best suited to you.
